After multiple flights from Anchorage, Alaska to Seattle, New York and finally Madrid, followed by a 5 hour bus ride - we have arrived at our starting point!
My friend, Pam and I will begin our first day of walking the Camino Primitivo early tomorrow morning. We did take a walk from our hotel to the cathedral to locate the marked path. It took a bit of exploration but we found the first bronze scallop shell embedded in the sidewalk. It took a little help from the Kindle version of my Northern Caminos book to find the next couple of turns. But we should be able to follow the path easily in the morning.
The cathedral is magnificent, lighted brightly in its plaza, inviting us to begin our journey to Santiago de Compostela.
